Sometimes I think that we all live in a dream and one day I will wake up. This photos are a collection of shooting using reflections to make a distorsion of the reality.

Being in the right place at the right time in street photography feels like catching lightning in a bottle. It's about that split-second when everything aligns perfectly: the light hits just right, the subjects are in harmony with their surroundings, and the moment unfolds with a story to tell. It's a dance of anticipation and spontaneity, where each step I take on the pavement could lead to a serendipitous encounter or a captivating scene waiting to be captured. Whether it's a fleeting expression or a striking juxtaposition, being present in that precise moment allows me to freeze time and immortalize the beauty of everyday life on the streets.

 Right Place  Right Time

For the Chinese new year in Paris, this time I decided to come the day before the big parade, with its excesses and large crowds, to try and get a more 'intimate' approach to the festivities.

Luckily, I came across a Lion Dance school, which I was able to follow for several hours. In the end, I'm really pleased to have been able to photograph the people behind the costumes.

LA Street Photography

‘Catch A Moment’ is a life-long street photography series in which I aim to catch split-second snapshots of elements aligning in humorous or uncanny ways in everyday life.

As I continue on my photographic journey, I find myself becoming increasingly aware of the transience of human beings, particularly in the context of wherever they may be, or whatever they may be doing, at any given time. I am fascinated by the fact that every time I click the shutter in front of a stranger moving and interacting within their environment, I have captured a little piece of the absolute randomness of life, a snapshot of an otherwise unremarkable moment in history, that is timely, comical, tricky to the eye or just plain beautiful. It really is an incredible feeling when suddenly, out from the mundane, the Universe delivers a fleeting and uncanny moment of magic and *click*, it’s not lost forever, but a recorded and tangible piece of art.

Catch A Moment

With their characteristic sense of humour, the people of Marseille call their city by the abbreviation "Mars". Having lived here for more than 20 years, I document life on Mars in all its aspects and, beyond that, I observe the human condition now, exactly as if I were an alien freshly landed on Earth.

I want to stop and think about how I experience the streets in my city. I’m interested as a photographer in finding a way of converting the spaces that we pass through on our way to our destinations, into the destination. What if the overlooked areas of our cities could hold as much meaning for us as our homes, or our places of work, or schools. Even if we don’t realize it. The places we pass every day have an enormous influence over who we are and our general perceptions of ourselves. We compare ourselves all day to strangers that we encounter on the street. We react to disturbing things or uplifting things. We are influenced by the advertising we see. We become bothered by people who knock into us or bikers who nearly run us over. We fall in love in the streets. It plays a much larger role in our lives than we maybe understand.
We spend time thinking about what we’re going to do once we get to wherever our destination may be. But, not so much about what we just passed through. It’s the great subconscious subspace landscape that we all inhabit together. 
I know that often in the US public space doesn’t register so much with us. Its significance doesn’t quite hit us until after we’ve moved away from there. Then one day we stop to remember the old place and, how much better it was than where we are now. 

When I’m out shooting I’m always seeking a means of converting chaos into a sort of structure. Creating a photographic proposal of what this space could look like. I only wish that I could freeze the space in real-time instead, of temporarily making a two-dimensional representation.
Though ultimately, I’m working with the knowledge that reality is much smarter than I am and, is a much better artist. I’m searching to come to an understanding of the language that the people around me speak either implicitly or explicitly. And, I know I would be foolish not to appreciate that I exist in an environment of temporarily aligned random fragments of sublime majesty.
